How to Get Netherite Armor in Minecraft Bedrock Edition

Netherite armor is the pinnacle of protection in Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Offering superior durability and higher defense than diamond gear, it is essential for players tackling the End Cities or fighting the Wither. However, unlike diamond armor, you cannot craft Netherite armor directly from a crafting table using raw ores. Instead, you must upgrade existing diamond gear.

To successfully obtain a full set of Netherite armor, you need to navigate the Nether, locate rare materials, and use a specific upgrading station. Here is the comprehensive guide on how to achieve this.

The Essential Materials Required

Before you begin the process, you must gather the following items. Without these, you cannot perform the upgrade:

Full Diamond Armor Set: You must already possess the diamond version of the piece you wish to upgrade.
Netherite Ingots: Each piece of armor requires one ingot. To make one ingot, you need four Netherite Scraps and four Gold Ingots.
Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template: Introduced in recent updates, this template is now mandatory to combine diamond gear with Netherite.
Smithing Table: The only workstation where the upgrade occurs.

Step 1: Finding Ancient Debris

The first challenge is locating Ancient Debris, the rarest ore in the game. This block only spawns in the Nether. The best way to find Ancient Debris is to mine at the lowest possible levels of the Nether.

Ancient Debris typically generates between Y-levels 8 and 22, with the highest concentration usually found around Y-level 15. Because the blocks are scattered and rare, players often use one of these methods:

Strip Mining: Digging long, straight tunnels at Y-15.
Bed Mining: Since beds explode in the Nether, players place a bed, ignite it, and use the blast to clear large areas of Netherrack to reveal the blast-resistant Ancient Debris.
